DARRYEL WASHINGTON
Founder & Executive Director
Darryel R. Washington is an avid golfer, visionary and tenacious leader and a self-determined professional with a heart for youth and a passion for business. His business experience encompasses financial and strategic planning, sales and marketing. This includes the industries of radio, food and beverage, financial services, insurance, and telecommunications. A trained athlete and 15 year baseball player, his love of golf began in 2009 when he received his first set of golf clubs as a birthday gift. This led him to sign up for training at a local golf course and he has not stopped golfing since. Darryel views golf as a mental game that allows for mental accommodation and clarity. This also allows for numerous and excellent networking opportunities. Darryel also believes that golf provides an alternative to the current popular and traditional sports culture. Golf allows youth to connect with nature as well as develop athletic skills. These skills can be used towards a sport that can be played throughout their lifetime whether on an amateur or professional level.
LETICIA BARTON, MPH
Managing Director & Golf Coach
Leticia Barton was born in Charleston, South Carolina. She has lived in the Raleigh area since 2002. In her professional career, she works in Public Health and spent many years in research and development where she was awarded four U.S. Patents. She is passionate about improving quality of life through leadership in community service, innovation, mentoring and developing others.
Leticia received golf instruction at Duke University. She joined Front and Back 9 Junior Golf Academy 2018 and loves being involved in teaching and mentoring the new golfers in the program. She also enjoys providing direction and coordination of Front and Back 9 Junior Golf Academy’s programs and operations to ensure sustainability and growth. She makes the program simple, fun, and creates a welcoming environment for all!
KELSEY EVANS
Golf Coach
Kelsey is an accomplished healthcare leader offering over 15 years of successful leadership in operational management, Lean Six Sigma implementation of Robotics Process Automation (RPA), Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and Business Process Engineering. He is recognized as being an integrity-driven leader with a lets get it done attitude. His strengths are in building and leading high performing professional teams, managing complex initiatives/projects with the acumen to assess business content and locate cost efficiency using the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Methodology/ RPA. An executive-level senior business process consultant who aligns C-level strategy with operational business processes requirements. Excels at agile business challenge decomposition and solutions integration to accomplish ambitious; mission-critical projects on time, target and budget. He has coached kids aging from 5 - 16 in various sports which include football, baseball, basketball, from high school to travel to parks and recreational ball. Kelsey displays the ability to assess the strengths and opportunities within kids and then assist them with the development of confidence, as well as; life skills to become a productive citizen through sports.

MOORE
Golf Coach
As a 2020 graduate of Saint Augustine's University, I have over a year of experience with PGA of America. In addition, I spent the last 14 years playing and competing in golf. My goal is to grow the game culturally by implementing key aspects of golf to the African American communities.
HUBERT
ADAMS
Golf Coach
Hubert is an avid golfer and was introduced to the world of golf at the young age of two by his father. Hubert has played the sport he loves for 21 years getting his official golf career started by joining The First Tee Triangle where he played all the way through high school. Hubert currently is a volunteer coach for the first tee triangle where he started! He has played in numerous of pro-am tournaments both locally and out of state. One being at Raleigh county club in which he and his team came in 3rd place in a match play game where he individually shot a 62 that day going against the champion tour players. Hubert is working hard to pursue his golf career professional and is a 2 handicap player. Hubert is currently in school and works at Sprint as a Sales Consultant.
WENDELL CAMP, MBA
Golf Coach
Proud graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill where I attained an undergraduate degree in Biology and competed as a D1 college football player. MBA from North Carolina Central University. A 21-year successful career in Medical Sales. An avid golfer for over 10 years and volunteer sports coach for the last 6 years. I am married and have 2 athletic young boys whom I coach in basketball and soccer. My passion is investing my time and energy into developing young people into leaders through the vehicle of sports.
JUSTIN
SCURLOCK
Golf Coach
Justin Scurlock loves to golf regularly at courses throughout the southeast. Justin began playing golf in Milwaukee, WI with his grandfather and uncle. He was a member of the Milwaukee Golf Connection where he played in numerous tournaments throughout the Midwest. Justin was recruited to play at St. Augustine's University for 3 years where he earned his B.S. in Organizational Management. Justin also has an MBA from the University of Phoenix. In his free time, he enjoys watching the sports teams from Wisconsin, the Chicago Blackhawks, and the SAU Falcons. Justin is a huge golf fan and enjoys teaching the game he loves to the youth.
